Creation of the Portuguese Office of the International Automobile Insurance Certificate

By deliberation of the general assembly of the Insurers’ Guild on 21^st February 1958, the Portuguese Office of the International Automobile Insurance Certificate was created, and the document is delivered to the insured, called “Carta Verde”.

This has facilitated the international movement of motor vehicles, resolving in a practical way the situation of drivers transiting in foreign countries in the event of an accident.
