And nowadays, when the law requires the publication of the Companies’ reports and accounts, there is the greatest care on the part of their administrations to be as brief and concise as possible, in order to reduce the expenses of these publications at the most, which makes it more difficult to understand the financial prosperity or difficulties of the different Companies.”
