Circular medal commemorating the inauguration of the new facilities of Angra do Heroísmo, of the Açoreana Insurance Company. OBVERSE: In the field, in the center, the modern symbol of the Açoreana Insurance Company, on an isosceles trapezoid-shaped figure, a stylized azor, in flight position. Below the composition, the inscription “AÇOREANA/ SEGUROS”, in two horizontal lines. On the rim, at the top, the legend ‘FUNDADA EM 1892’ and at the bottom, nine five-pointed stars representing the islands that make up the Azores archipelago (S. Miguel, Santa Maria, Terceira, Graciosa, S. Jorge, Pico, Faial, Flores and Corvo). REVERSE: Surface filled by the representation of a navigation chart with two vessels sailing (one on each side of the medal), in the field, in the center, the profile of Terceira island with indication of the four cardinal points. Topping the composition, the legend “1989/ INAUGURAÇÃO/ DAS NOVAS INSTALAÇÕES” in three curved lines. On the border, at the bottom, the legend “ANGRA DO HEROÍSMO” limited by fence stitches.
