Description

Reinsurance policy no. 86581 of Universal Insurance Company, dated October 13, 1908, in which is “reinsured the Fidelidade Insurance Company”. The present contract is of the Maritime branch – against gross damage. The risk on the transport of silver coin between Madeira and Lisbon, for a total of RS 300:000$000 (réis). At the top of the first page, this policy shows the name of the Insurer, the capital of RS 1,200:000$000 (réis), identifying the insurer’s headquarters in Lisbon. Signed by the Insured are the directors of Fidelidade Insurance Company: António Pereira Lima and António Tarujo Formigal. In the upper left corner sign two directors of the Universal Insurance Company (can’t read the signatures).
