Historial

Garantia Insurance Company, founded in 1853, in the city of Oporto. It had its first head office at Rua Ferreira Borges, nº37. In 1929 it acquired the majority of the capital of the insurance company “A Equitativa de Portugal e Ultramar” whose total integration was carried out in 1933. In the General Assembly of “Fomento Agrícola – Companhia Internacional de Seguros” held in 1920, a proposal was approved to transfer the assets and liabilities of the Company to the Garantia (in Seguradoras Nacionais by Artur Reis, 2000).
