Description

Rectangular lead fire mark insurance, in tinplate. In the field, in the centre, the word PROBIDADE. In an elliptical shape, above it the Cª de SEGUROS and in the lower part the foundation date and the city where it was born LISBOA with 1881 on each side. The background is dark green and the letters in gold. It has 4 holes to be fixed.

Historial

Probidade – Companhia Geral de Seguros, founded in 1881. Its first head office was located at Rua d’El-Rei, nº99 – 1º, currently Rua do Comércio in Lisbon. It was later incorporated in the A Mundial Insurance Company (Seguradoras Nacionais by Artur Reis, 2000). Fire mark insurance, with four holes, to be fixed on the front of buildings whose owners had contracted a policy on fire risk.
