Policy No. 13162 of Fidelidade Insurance Company, dated July 15, 1861, in which is policyholder João Henriques Marques da Silva. This contract is of the fire branch and deals with the risk on a property of houses in Rua da Achada, nºs 11 and 13, in the parish of S. Cristovão, which consists of shops and three floors. The insured capital is 800$000 (eight hundred thousand reis). At the top of the first page of this policy displays a picture with the symbol of the insurance company. In the top left corner is visible the stamp payment to the public treasurer. In the opposite corner is the insurance company’s white stamp. Below the description of the contracting parties and the annual premium fixed at 1$333 reis, the policy is dated and signed by two directors: Jose Antonio Serzedello e J. R. Tarujo dos Santos.
